I have been receiving treatment from Kirsty for a number of years for loss of mobility on my left side due to a stroke. All of her sessions are well structured which, combined with her extensive and detailed knowledge, builds the confidence of the patients to achieve things they didn’t think possible. Her composed approach and ability to adapt the style and types of the exercises she gives to the patient is nothing short of amazing. Being the type of person who has to know “why” when attempting anything she has never failed to provide a simple understandable answer to some very complex situations. The most important thing is that she has never given up on me as many other medical professionals have and I will forever be grateful for this.
My wife was recommended to contact Kirsty when her rehabilitation with the NHS was coming to an end. It was thought that her knowledge of neurological problems and of using electrical stimulation in treatment would be beneficial for her. My wife has had three brain operations which have left her with a weakness down her right side and problems with her balance. When we first saw Kirsty regarding these difficulties I was immediately confident that we had found the right person for help and support. We have been seeing Kirsty once a month for the last 18 months. We initially started with the electrical stimulation but she offers so much more. At the start of treatment there was a base line measure to identify current problems which not only helps inform specific areas of treatment but also provide a precise measure of progress. At our monthly meeting we evaluate our home programme of exercises that Kirsty provides at the end of each session and my wife also practices new exercises that will be added to her monthly regime. My wife enjoys seeing Kirsty and is so much improved from our initial meeting. However there is also a great benefit for me. She listens to my concerns and I feel so much more confident having an expert to guide me in my wife’s rehabilitation. We can highly recommend Kirsty for her expertise and enthusiasm and as an added bonus; she is a lovely person with a charming personality.
I have had to overcome my scruples about private care, and twice a week I go to see a neurophysiotherapist. Kirsty has worked miracles with my mobility and drives me hard towards achieving ever more challenging targets. Working with her has been transformational: she is utterly patient in dealing with my endless questioning (no sensible health practitioner should take on a senior academic as a client), and has zero tolerance about comfort zones. I have learnt so much from her about how my body works (or doesn't). I now know that if I perform countless (well at least a thousand) repetitions of her exercises and then sleep on them, there is a good chance that new neural pathways will be established by the following morning. I am often lost in wonderment about what my damaged brain can do by way of reforming itself, and Kirsty opens the pathways for this to keep happening.

You transformed our lives getting her so much more mobile & the advice to get a stair lift etc you are a true professional.
As a 29 year old stroke survivor I went from having a left side non-functioning upper limb to driving, typing and cooking in the space of 10 months with Kirsty's rehabilitation programme.
Kirsty reviewed my situation as an individual, taking on board my needs and ultimate goals and provided me with a realistic and interesting rehabilitation schedule which included Functional Electrical Stimulation and cutting edge Saeboflex and Saebostretch rehabilitation equipment.
Kirsty's attitude, personality and understanding nature made every physiotherapy session really enjoyable. It was a pure joy to work with her.
A patient reported being able to hug her mother for the first time since her stroke - upper limb rehabilitation goals that matter.
I first made contact with Kirsty in August 2010 following a stroke which left me with reduced mobility in my left hand and left leg. Kirsty spent time discussing my problems and challenges and devised a personalised exercise programme which I could undertake easily on my own. As a result of these exercises I noted distinct improvement. However, a further stroke set me back again. Kirsty's skill was then put to the test, having to create new exercises as my mobility was now further impaired. All her exercises are carefully designed to fit with my personal circumstances and incorporate a combination of simple movements and stretches as well household objects - thus avoiding the need for expensive equipment. Having seen many doctors and specialists during this period, Kirsty was the first and only one to identify symptoms of Parkinson's disease which have subsequently been confirmed. Yet more new exercises followed which again have been very useful in helping me manage my mobility issues. I have found working with Kirsty to be hugely helpful and beneficial. She is a great listener and a straight-talker as well as being both motivational and practical. I can't praise her highly enough.
